Perlane is a wrinkle filler made with smooth, colorless hyaluronic acid (HA) gel. Like Restylane, Perlane is made with a patented non-animal stabilized HA formula. However, Perlane is formulated to treat deeper or more severe wrinkles.

What to Expect During Perlane Treatment
After the treatment areas are identified, the doctor cleans the skin with an antiseptic solution. Although Perlane now comes with anesthetic in its composition, a topical anesthetic or dental block can also be used to increase comfort during the injection.
Perlane is injected to a specified depth using a linear threading or serial puncture technique. A brief massage of the treated area may be necessary after the injection.
After Your Perlane Injection
After the injection, you’ll see an immediate improvement of your wrinkles and folds, and your skin may feel fuller than expected. This will improve rapidly as the swelling subsides. Underneath the skin surface, the hyaluronic acid in Perlane binds with the water in your tissue to increase skin volume.
The results of Perlane can be seen six to nine months after treatment. Subsequent touch up treatments can ensure long-lasting results from your Perlane treatment.
Possible Perlane Side Effects
Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature and resolve within seven days. The most common adverse events include redness, tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration.
