Affirm Laser is a laser system made by Cynosure that combines non-ablative fractional Nd:Yag laser and pulsed light technology to achieve comprehensive skin resurfacing, rejuvenation and tightening. Affirm Laser Indications
Treatment with the Affirm Laser may be recommended to adult men and women of all ages and skin types who experience any of the following cosmetic skin concerns:

The Affirm laser is extremely versatile and can be used to for skin tightening, resurfacing and rejuvenation on the face, including the areas around the eyes and mouth, as well as the neck, chest and hands. Treatment may even be applied elsewhere on the body for scar reduction.
Affirm Laser Treatment
The Affirm Laser system utilizes different laser wavelengths to provide effective treatment for different skin problems, including:
- 560nm-950nm wavelengths for photorejuvenation and pigmentation correction
- 1320nm wavelength for skin tightening and smoothing
- 1440nm wavelength for wrinkle reduction, skin rejuvenation and scar reduction
Unlike most fractional laser treatments, Affirm Laser is relatively painless and does not typically require topical anesthesia or nerve blocks. Skin is continuously cooled throughout treatment, so pain and discomfort are minimized. Additionally, the topical blue dye that is administered prior to most fractional laser treatments is also unnecessary with the Affirm Laser, which translates into shorter treatment time and less skin discoloration immediately following treatment.
If you are prone to cold sores, preventative measures will be taken prior to your Affirm Laser treatment, as this and other laser skin resurfacing procedures may trigger cold sores if performed near your mouth.
Affirm Laser treatment takes less than 30 minutes to perform, and individual treatment sessions are spaced three to six weeks apart.
Affirm Laser Recovery
Affirm treatment requires little to no downtime. Most patients may return to work and normal activities immediately following treatment, however sun protection should be used to protect your skin and your results after treatment.
Redness and swelling are the most common side effects after Affirm Laser treatment, however they are typically mild and resolve within hours or a few days. Blisters may also occur but are rare and also resolve quickly.
It takes approximately three to four Affirm Laser treatments to see significant results, although some skin improvement can be seen as early as your first Affirm treatment.
